Star Wars fans can finally stop waiting. The first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu is out, and it shows Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his tiny friend Grogu, who is better known as Baby Yoda, on the big screen for the first time.

The movie, directed by Jon Favreau, will come out on May 22, 2026, and it will continue the story from the Disney+ series. The trailer shows huge battles, huge AT-ATs, and new characters, such as Sigourney Weaver as a brave pilot and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt.

Fans will also see cameos from well-known characters like Babu Frik and Zeb Orrelios, who connect different parts of the galaxy. One great scene shows Mando and Grogu taking down a huge walker on the side of a mountain.

The official summary says that the story takes place after the fall of the Empire and the New Republic’s attempts to keep things in order. To bring back peace, they ask Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu, whose relationship has become one of the saga’s most famous partnerships.
